Who we are

Ahang Knowledge, Johannesburg, South Africa, is the responsible party for the information on this site. You can reach us about anything here at anisha@afribao.com.

What we collect, and why

• Applications. Your name, email, phone (optional), LinkedIn link (optional), pillar, venture, stage, city, the problem you bring, what you contribute, why you want to join, how you heard about us, and your attendance answer. We use this to review applications, choose the circle, and contact you.
• Newsletter. Your email address and the page you signed up on, so we can tell you when the next circle opens.
• Anonymous page counts. Vercel Web Analytics counts visits, pages, countries, devices and where visitors came from. It uses no cookies and does not identify you.
• Analytics, only if you accept. PostHog records which pages and application steps are used, clicks, and session recordings with everything you type hidden. It sets a cookie or similar identifier in your browser. We use it to find where the site confuses people and to improve it. We never send your name, email or answers to PostHog.

Your choice about analytics

Optional analytics are off until you accept the banner, and you can change your mind at any time. Cookie settings reopens the choice. Declining does not affect applying or anything else on the site.

Who handles it for us

These services process information on our behalf. Some of them store data outside South Africa.

• Vercel. Hosts the website and provides cookie-free, anonymous page-view counts (Vercel Web Analytics).
• Supabase. Stores applications and newsletter sign-ups in our database.
• Resend. Emails each new application and sign-up to our team.
• PostHog. Product analytics, only if you accept analytics. Data is hosted in the United States.

We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep application and newsletter details for as long as we need them to run Ahang Knowledge and follow up with you. We delete them when you ask, unless the law requires us to keep them. Analytics data is kept only as long as it is useful for improving the site.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent, by emailing anisha@afribao.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

Changes

If we change how we use information, we will update this page and its date.
